Mason explains, “I am an artist that specializes in portraiture but enjoys versatility. I hope to inspire, invoke thought and bring happiness through my work. I enjoy exploring my creativity with oils. Oil paint is a flexible medium that does not dry quickly, giving me the ability to adjust and change over time.”

Mason Andrews was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he grew up in a culturally diverse neighborhood within the foster care system. Mason found a lifeline in art that provided him a source of stability throughout a period of tumultuous years. He started out with a pencil and paper and his creative outlet was born. In 2012 Mason began selling his graphite drawings and in 2018 he made the transition to oil painting and commissioned work. Now a resident of South Whidbey, he loves to explore a variety of techniques, subjects, and styles as can be seen in his diverse body of work. Mason uses his art to share a story of overcoming obstacles, change, redemption and growth.
