Opening Night Reception

Rock, Cradled   welded steel, rock   $900

In his latest sculptures, on exhibit throughout October, artist Dan Freeman further explores juxtapositions of form and material. Characteristic of Freeman’s work is the combination of welded steel and stone, and at times the addition of wood, branches and other materials.

Several new pieces in this exhibition continue his popular Moon Series, others are stream of consciousness assemblages of abstract shapes.

Dan is known for his fresh use of textures, colors and forms which create a dialogue between the artist and the materials used. His distinctive work will be on display in the gallery and in its sculpture garden

Freeman says, “I have been making objects all my life as a way to express my thoughts and feelings. I like to think that I have the soul of a poet but instead of writing I make these feelings into an object. For me it’s a form of meditation. When I am working on a piece I feel a connection to all the hands in the world that create and make.”
